Your guide to Leeko

Leeko brings weather, your drone, your experience and your planned flight together. This guide explains what each part of the app does, what you will see on screen, and why it is useful.
How Leeko works
The Leeko model is the part that brings the pieces together. Instead of showing a weather number and leaving you to work out what it means, Leeko looks at the conditions alongside your selected drone, experience level and flight context.
Conditions
Wind, gusts, rain, temperature and the other available forecast information.
Drone
Your selected aircraft and its published operating information.
Pilot
Your Beginner, Intermediate or Pro experience setting.
Flight
Time, route, terrain and battery context where available.
Location context matters too. Leeko can analyse the place you plan to fly rather than assuming you must currently be there. When a pilot later records an on-site observation, that real-world input can complement the forecast without pretending to be a sensor measurement.
A clear flight recommendation
Leeko explains the current status and the reasons behind it. Experience settings can change the level of guidance, but they do not override manufacturer limits.
Leeko is designed to reduce the amount of information you have to piece together yourself before a flight. The model connects the information so the rest of the app can stay focused and readable.
Home
Home is your quick pre-flight view. Open Leeko and you should be able to understand the current situation without digging through several screens.

See wind, gusts, rain and other useful conditions at the active flight location — whether that is your current location or a selected future location.

Leeko's flight guidance is an estimate based on available forecast data and published drone specifications. Always check current conditions, your drone's official documentation, applicable aviation regulations and local airspace restrictions before flying.
Wind
Wind is one of the most important flight variables, so Leeko treats sustained wind and gusts separately and compares them with the selected drone.
Sustained wind
The wind you are likely to experience continuously.
Gusts
Short increases in wind that can reduce your margin. At higher forecast altitudes, Leeko keeps the gust value clearly marked as the available 10 m reference when higher-level gusts are not supplied.
Forecast altitude
Choose an available model level such as 10 m, 80 m, 120 m or 180 m. Leeko uses the actual forecast-model wind and direction at that level rather than mathematically scaling the 10 m wind.

A recommended threshold based on the selected aircraft data.
Manufacturer limit
The published aircraft limit remains the hard reference.
Two drones can have very different wind guidance in the same conditions. That is why the selected drone matters.

Locations & flight context
Leeko separates where you are from where you plan to fly. A saved location can become the active flight location, so you can plan tomorrow’s flight from home without needing to physically be at the launch site.
Current location
Use your physical location when you want Leeko to analyse where you are now.
Saved locations
Save places you intend to fly later and return to them from the Map workflow.
Use for flight
Select a saved or map-selected place and make it the location Leeko uses for weather, forecasts and flight analysis.
Future planning
Choose the flight location first, then review the relevant forecast, wind, gusts, best windows and planning information for that place.
Where you plan to fly matters
Leeko keeps the active flight location as the analysis context. You can be at home while planning a flight somewhere else, then use “Use my current location” whenever you want to switch back.
The forecast tells you what is expected at the selected flight location. Your physical location does not silently replace the place you are planning to fly.

Leeko changes the way guidance is presented depending on whether you are a Beginner, Intermediate or Pro pilot.
Beginner
More explanation, simpler practice and a more conservative interpretation of suitable conditions.
Intermediate
A balanced level of explanation with the wider planning tools available.
Pro
Deeper flight context and more advanced suggestions where the conditions allow it.
The boundary
No experience setting overrides a manufacturer's published limit.
The same weather can mean different practical advice for different pilots. The setting makes the guidance useful without pretending experience changes the aircraft's physical limits.
Pro pre-flight checks
Pro now includes an optional advanced pre-flight workflow for pilots who want to review more than weather before takeoff. It extends Leeko’s existing decision-support workflow rather than replacing it.
Aircraft & configuration
Review battery configuration, battery type, aircraft weight/configuration, over-250g awareness, aircraft warnings, firmware, connection, GPS and home point.
Controller
Review controller connection, signal quality, connection-range awareness and controller battery.
Flight settings
Review maximum altitude and distance, flight mode, obstacle avoidance, vision/sensors, battery reserve and return-to-home settings.
Mission
Review waypoint availability, autonomous configuration, the existing route, signal-loss behaviour and mission-continuation behaviour.
Only the checks you choose are required
Each Pro pre-flight check can be switched on or off. Leeko can complete checks automatically when reliable information is available; otherwise the pilot can manually confirm the check.
Pro pre-flight is designed to answer a broader question: not only “Are the conditions suitable?” but also “Have I reviewed the important parts of my aircraft and flight setup?”
On-site conditions
Forecast data cannot always describe the exact conditions around a launch point. Pro users can optionally record a quick pilot observation when they arrive, keeping the forecast and real-world observation separate.
Quick wind observation
Choose Calm, Gusty, Too windy or Not sure. This is an observation, not a measured wind speed.
Optional visibility
Record Good, Reduced or Poor visibility without turning the check into a questionnaire.
Optional general conditions
Record Suitable, Questionable or Unsuitable conditions when useful.
Re-check
Conditions can be updated later. The latest observation becomes the active one for the current pre-flight session.
Leeko keeps both pieces of information visible
The forecast remains the numerical weather source. “Observed locally” tells Leeko what the pilot is actually experiencing at the launch location. The existing Leeko recommendation system can use that observation as additional context.
The feature does not claim to measure local wind and does not guarantee a safe flight. It helps Leeko account for the difference between forecast conditions and what the pilot sees at the launch point.
Your drones
Choose the aircraft you actually fly.
Leeko keeps a broad aircraft database so the app can use the selected drone's information throughout the experience. Your profile can contain more than one drone, and you can switch the active aircraft at any time.
Adding a drone does not change the database. Removing one only removes it from your profile, so you can always add it again later.

Custom homepage
Custom is a dashboard mode, not a fourth pilot experience level. It starts from the existing Pro homepage and lets you decide which homepage cards you want to see and the order in which they appear.
Starts from Pro
The first time Custom is enabled, its dashboard is initialised from the Pro dashboard configuration rather than starting empty.
Show or hide cards
Choose which existing homepage cards are visible. Hiding a card does not disable the underlying Leeko feature.
Reorder cards
Arrange the visible homepage cards around the way you fly using the existing Leeko-style controls.
Persistent layout
Your Custom visibility and order are saved and restored when you leave Custom and return later.
Reset Custom Layout
Restore the Custom homepage to the Pro dashboard configuration without resetting drones, locations, settings, logs or other user data.
Custom is about homepage presentation, not removing capabilities. Beginner, Intermediate and Pro remain their existing experiences, while Custom gives users a personal Pro-based dashboard.
Flight log
Flight Log is for the flights you actually completed. It keeps the useful details together so your history does not become a collection of loose notes.

Weather status
A read-only status based on the recorded conditions and selected drone.
Notes
Add your own observations about the flight.
The log separates planning from history. A saved plan describes what you intended to do; a flight log records what actually happened.

Notifications
Flight-condition notifications
Leeko can use browser notifications to let you know when its existing flight-condition guidance changes. Your browser and device still control notification permission and delivery.
Notifications are there for changing conditions, not to replace checking the app before launch.
Safety
Leeko helps you prepare. It does not guarantee a safe flight.
Weather changes. Manufacturer documentation and limits still matter. You are responsible for checking applicable aviation rules, airspace restrictions, local requirements and the conditions at the time of flight.

Leeko became a drone flight companion

Active flight locations
Saved or map-selected locations can now be used explicitly for flight analysis. “Use for flight” makes the selected place the active context for weather and planning, while “Use my current location” returns to the pilot’s physical location.
